For the winter 2011/2012 season, Gucci introduces its latest range of ski goggles for adults and children – the perfect accessory that luxuriously combines sport and style.
Part of the young and dynamic Gucci Eyeweb styles, the unisex goggles this season include two new colours, polished gold and polished silver. The gold model features a gold lens and a elasticated headband in black-beige-black web stripe, while the silver version has a mirrored silver lens and a grey-white-grey web stripe.
Complete with the Gucci logo on the front, the model is also available in the classic colours of white and black with silver mirrored lenses. The elastic headband bears the House’s iconic green-red-green web stripe.
Recently launched, the children’s eyewear collection now presents its first ski goggle. Similar to the adult style, the children’s goggle also uses a mirrored lens and is offered in four variations: matte white and matte black with the elastic headband in the iconic green-red-green web stripe, in polished gold with black-beige-black web stripe and in silver with white-grey-white web stripe.
High-tech construction and premium quality bring to life the House’s glamorous details and distinctive design. The front of the goggle is made of painted polyurethane, a high-strength thermoplastic, whereas the dual lens, spherical in the adult goggles and cylindrical for the children’s version, eliminates fog with an effective thermal barrier while also providing total UV protection.
The new Gucci Eyewear Collection introduces a sophisticated range of sunglasses and optical frames that reference the House’s icons for a contemporary yet timeless appeal.
Designed by Creative Director Frida Giannini, the various models include innovative and alluring materials, developed according to the craftsmanship standards for which Gucci has become renowned.
A hint of the 1980s appears on sunglasses with boldly assertive volumes, as shown on Gucci’s Fall Winter runway. The large square-shaped model in Optyl – trademark for an ultra light plastic material which allows for fascinating chromatic effects – combines colour nuances in crystal-grey, purple, yellow, honey and black with havana on the linear bridge and on the temples (mod. GG3532/S). Visual effects play with contrasts between colour and transparency in order to highlight the geometric shape of the frame, enriched at the top extremities by eye-catching twin metal plaques with a shiny/opaque effect recalling the signature Gucci web (mod. GG3505/S).
The aviator shape of this acetate sunglasses model features a refined metal insert on the double bridge, with a subtle shiny/opaque web. The colour options alternate classic shades of havana, dark havana, black, olive and horn with more unconventional hues of blue, mauve or brick red (mod. GG3501/S). This model is also available in two exclusive colours: red-streaked or green-streaked havana, applied to special acetate that contains a higher than usual proportion of natural materials (mod. GG3501/B/S), in an extension of the House’s environmental commitment to the eyewear segment.
A strikingly elegant sculpted bamboo effect – an iconic Gucci symbol – distinguishes the silhouette of a sunglasses model with a generous wrap-around shape. Small metal rings on the temples and front highlight the natural breaks between the bamboo. Colours are glamorous and include beige, aubergine and khaki (mod. GG3509/S).
The Gucci Eyeweb segment of the collection is dedicated to the young and environmentally aware. This newcomer to Eyeweb is a shield-shaped, bio-based sunglasses model made of a natural material obtained from ricinus, the castor-oil plant. Gucci’s signature green- red -green web and the silver double G logo personalise the temples (mod. GG3514/S).
Generously shaped acetate sunglasses express the House’s feminine mood, with delicate shaded tones of blue, purple, burgundy/pink and grey/black. A metal version of the new ‘Gucci lovely’ logo appears on the forked temples (mod. GG3500/S).
This special edition sunglasses model with its elegant, large upsweep shape and glass lenses is part of the exclusive 1921 Collection, conceived to celebrate Gucci’s 90th anniversary. Completely covered in natural leather, the style is available in three colours – cherry, beige, and brown – and features an 18 - carat gold plaque on the left temple, engraved with the new trademark, G. Gucci Firenze 1921 (mod. GG3513/S).
The latest optical frames reflect a sense of minimalism, enriched by references to Gucci icons: the subtly vintage essential shapes paired with a contemporary allure, in a new multi- layered acetate optical model from the Eyeweb line, with the House’s distinctive web motif running along the temples with the GG logo (mod. GG3517).
The House’s chic femininity characterizes this vintage-shaped optical model featuring a sophisticated striated acetate effect in shades of brown, purple, grey and blue, with same-colour or contrasting temples carrying an understated ‘Gucci’ logo (mod. GG3518).
The new Gucci Eyewear Collection expresses the House’s iconic aesthetic through refined sunglasses and optical frames: sophisticated technical details, innovative high- quality materials and distinctive colours combine for a timeless luxury envisioned by Creative Director Frida Giannini.
The eye- catching, ultra modern men’s sunglasses model featuring teardrop lines is also available with polarised lenses for an optimised vision performance. At the beginning of the temples, a metal plaque with a shiny/opaque web effect gives way to a flex hinge for a combination of total comfort with maximum design linearity (mod. GG1002/S).

This newcomer to Eyeweb is a shield-shaped, bio-based sunglasses model made of a natural material obtained from ricinus, the castor- oil plant. Gucci’s signature green-red-green web and the large silver G Soft logo personalise the temples (mod. GG1004/S).
This metal aviator sunglasses model, first shown on the Fall Winter 2011- 2012 runway, has a unique 1980s inspiration. Integrated flex hinges offer maximum lightness and flexibility. An acetate insert in sophisticated contrasting colours highlights the upper element of the double bridge and the extremities of the tips (mod. GG2206/S).
